Robert Berry is a multi-talented musician known as a songwriter, an arranger, a singer, a guitarist, a keyboard player and a drummer. He run a project “3” with Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer and released an album “To The Power Of Three”. Robert kept the project with Keith Emerson as “3.2” but Keith unfortunately passed away on 11th of March, 2016. Robert was in difficult situation but kept producing the album using materials and ideas which Keith left in deep sorrow. He finally finished an album of 3.2 “The Rules Have Changed” and it has delivered to fans. The album has a vision and is filled with beautiful catchy melodies, tasteful arrangement, smooth vocal and deeply considered lyrics. Robert Berry took some time to talk to Muse On Muse about this ultimate product.

ソング・ライター、アレンジャー、そしてシンガー、ギター、キーボードからドラムに至るまでマルチ・プレイヤーとしても卓越した才能を放つミュージシャンであるロバート・ベリーが亡きキース・エマーソンとして進めていたプロジェクト”3.2″。1988年にはキース・エマーソン、カール・パーマー、ロバート・ベリーが集結したプロジェクト”3″にて「…TO THE POWER OF THREE」をリリースしており、その続編に位置付けられる”3.2″であったが、プロジェクトの真っ只中であった2016年3月11日に不幸にもキース・エマーソンが他界。悲しみと困難の状況下、生前のキースが残した各曲のパーツ、アイデアにロバート自身の新たな曲のパーツ、キースの遺志を継ぐアイデアを編み込んでいくといった高度な手法によりアルバムの制作は続けられた。そして遂に完成したキースとの作品は、 3.2 「The Rules Have Changed 」としてファンの元に届けられた。アルバムは美しくキャッチーなメロディ、卓越したセンスに溢れたアレンジ、清涼感に溢れる歌声、そして思慮深い歌詞により展開される世界感を持つ見事な作品となっている。至高の作品についてロバートに訊いた。

Clif Magness has released numerous classics for not only himself, but also for other producers. The tune with Quincy Jones “The Places You Find Love” won Grammy wards. “All I Need” in 1984 for Jack Wagner is considered to be the best tune Jack has released. He also produced the hit tune “Impulsive” for Wilson Phillips in 1994, the album “FOR THE LOVE OF STRANGE MEDICINE” for Steve” Perry from Journey, who is well known in Japan as well as worldwide, the hit album “LET GO” for Avril Ramona Lavigne and for countless others.
His “PLANET 3” with Jay Graydon and Glen Ballard released in 1991 fascinated AOR/Rock fans by its superb vocals and song writing. Clif, who is a big influence in music industry, just released his new solo album “LUCKY DONG” the songs are filled with his signature vocal, soothing catchy melodies, heavy chorus works, and arrangements which emphasize the power of music.

また、ジェイ・グレイドン、グレン・バラードとの作品「PLANET 3」(1991年) においてはボーカル、ソングライティングでAOR、ロック・ファンを魅了している。音楽界で多大な実績を誇るクリフが自身のニュー・アルバム「LUCKY DOG」をリリース。新作「LUCKY DOG」は、クリフの魅力であるクリアーなボーカル、キャッチーで爽快なメロディ、重厚なコーラス、そして曲を最高に惹きたてるアレンジで彩られた楽曲が満載の素晴らしいAOR、ROCKアルバムとなっている。
