総合格闘技の世界で闘っていた男が、子供の頃から抱いていたもう一つの夢をつかむべく、ブルース・ロック音楽の世界に闘いの場を移し情熱を注いでいる。元総合格闘家のKris Barras（クリス・バラス）が渾身のブルース・ロック作品「Light It Up」をリリース。クリス・バラスのミュージシャンとしての実力は、あのブルース・ロックのスーパー・プロジェクトであるSupersonic Blues Machine にてフロントマンとしてギターとボーカルを担い、ビリー・ギボンズ、スティーヴ・ルカサー、エリック・ゲイルズやウォーレン・ヘインズといった錚々たるミュージシャン達と共演し、堂々と渡り合っていることからも明らかである。今回の作品でも、シンガー、ギタリストとしての魅力はもちろん、作曲面におけるメロディ・メーカーとしてもその才能を存分に披露。アルバムは、ボーカルのメロディの豊かさ、ブルースフィーリングを持ちながらも決して古臭くはなっていない洗練されたアレンジ、そしてリアルなギタープレイ、歌声が発揮された会心作となっている。最新作「Light It Up」についてクリス・バラスに訊いた。
