Carl Verheyen is undoubtedly one of LA’s first-call session guitarists. While building up his carrier as a sideman for big-name artists such as Bee Gees, Little Richard and John Fogerty, he has also kept himself busy playing on movie soundtracks including Star Trek and Mission Impossible IV. Over the years, Carl has continued to allure avid music fans with a number of solo albums as well as with his band, Carl Verheyen Band, in the U.S. and Europe.

Carl’s recent release, “Alone” marks his second solo acoustic album following the release of “Guitar Improvisations” that came out in 2001. With much intricacy and intimacy, Carl continues to explore his pursuit on an acoustic guitar by covering the pieces that have inspired him all these years. The unique-yet-beautifully-arranged “Last Train Home” (Pat Metheny) or “Mercy Street” (Peter Gabriel) will surely satisfy all of those who have waited long enough for the album to come out.

LA音楽シーンで”ファーストコール”のセッションギタリストとして、これまでにビージーズ、リトル・リチャード、ジョン・フォガティといった数々の大物アーティストとの共演や「STAR TREK」や「ミッションインポジブル 4」といった有名映画作品のサウンドトラックへの参加に至るまで多大な実績を築いているCarl Verheyen (カール・ヴァーヘイエン)。
自身のソロ作品やCarl Verheyen Bandにおいても玄人好みの熱心な音楽ファンを中心に米国、ヨーロッパで支持を集めている。
今回、カールは2001年にリリースされたソロ・アコースティック作品「Guitar Improvisations」に続く第二弾のソロ・アコースティック作品「ALONE」をリリース。

I woke up this morning in Austin Texas thinking about a weird old song that was a pop hit called in the 80s called Jesse’s Girl by a guy named Rick Springfield.

I wasn’t really thinking about Rick OR the song but I was thinking about the amazing melodic rock solo on the song by the GREAT but not talked about guitar player Neil Giraldo. I heard Neil’s notes in my head and tried to picture where those notes were on the fret board….and a funny thing happened….I couldn’t picture where those notes were coming from.

今朝起きた時、俺はテキサス州オースチンでリック・スプリングフィールドが書いた『Jessie’s Girl』っていう風変わりな古い曲（80年代にヒットした）について考えていた。別にリックやその曲自体についてではない。その中でアメイジングかつメロディックなソロを弾きつつも、誰にも語られることのなかった偉大なギタリスト、ニール・ジラルドについてだ。俺は頭の中でニールの音を聴きながら、それらを指板上で視覚的に置き換えてみた。そしたら妙なことが起きた。なんとそれらの音がどこからやってきたのか全く見当が付かなかったんだ。
