90年代にロック・インストゥルメント作品「Michael Lee Firkins」でデビューしたマイケルは、メロディックな楽曲やカントリースタイルを織り交ぜた独自のテクニカルなギター・スタイル、トーンで次世代ギターヒーロとして一躍注目を集めた。その後もカントリー、ブルースをより強く感じさせるアルバムを発表していく中、そのパワフルかつ深みのある歌声や説得力あるギタープレイで聴く者を魅了し続けている。
